Turiba University Participates in the Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership Project “PSYCARE” Creative Workshop in Cyprus
From May 10 to 12, an international creative workshop and partner meeting of the Erasmus+ project “PSYCARE” took place in Paphos, Cyprus, bringing together representatives from Ukraine, Latvia, Sweden, Cyprus, and Norway. Business School Turība was represented in Paphos by Head of the Healthcare Study Direction Marika Kaprano-Ģederte.
During the meeting, project partners continued working on the development of an innovative, research-based training programme for vocational education students in the beauty and hairdressing sectors.
The aim of the “PSYCARE” project is to support participants of initial vocational education and training programmes in hairdressing and cosmetology by helping them recognise clients’ emotional difficulties, respond appropriately, and at the same time take care of their own mental well-being. The project places particular emphasis on raising awareness of mental health issues within the beauty industry and professional environment.
Throughout the meeting, partners discussed the progress of the training course development, improved the methodology, practical assignments, and educational content, as well as explored creative and inclusive ways to ensure effective knowledge transfer to vocational education students. The programme also included focus group discussions with industry professionals, lecturers, and students, analysing challenges in the beauty sector and possible solutions for strengthening mental health support.
During the visit, project participants also visited CDA College and Revolution Academy, gaining insight into the vocational education environment in Cyprus and exchanging experience regarding the organisation of the learning process and student support opportunities.
International cooperation within the project framework not only contributes to the development of high-quality and modern educational materials, but also strengthens collaboration between partner organisations and promotes intercultural experience through exploring different countries’ approaches to vocational education, culture, and traditions.
The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union Erasmus+ programme.
