International projects

Turiba University is actively expanding its international cooperation, initiating, developing, and implementing various local, national, and international projects.

We believe that the development of the University is inconceivable without innovative initiatives, the creation of new teaching approaches and methods, and without international collaboration. To prepare high-quality new professionals, it is essential for our university to provide opportunities for learning in an international environment, meeting lecturers, and professionals from around the world. Therefore, we realize international projects in collaboration with universities and partners worldwide.

Through these projects, we have developed new and innovative educational resources and tools, published books, organized international conferences, exchange trips, study visits, summer schools, and other activities.

Empowering hair and beauty students in initial VET to tackle mental health issues facing their clients and their own challenges: PSYCARE

In October 2025, Turiba University launched the Erasmus+ cooperation partnership project “Empowering hair and beauty students in initial VET to tackle mental health issues facing their clients and their own challenges – PSYCARE” . The project is implemented in collaboration with the lead partner Godalen Videregående Skole (Norway) and partners from Sweden, Cyprus, Norway, Spain, Ukraine, and Denmark.

Project Aim

In the beauty industry, professionals work in close and regular contact with clients who often share personal and emotionally difficult experiences. This creates a high risk of emotional strain and burnout, particularly for young professionals.

The aim of the PSYCARE project is to develop and implement an innovative, research-based training programme that equips hairdressing and beauty therapy students with the skills to recognise and appropriately respond to psychological health risks in clients, as well as to maintain their own emotional wellbeing.

As a result, young professionals will gain knowledge and practical skills to identify signs of psychological distress in clients and respond appropriately (recognise, listen, refer—rather than treat), as well as protect themselves from emotional overload and burnout.

Expected Results

  1. A one-day training course for beauty sector students (EQF 3–4)
  2. Video materials – 8 thematic training videos
  3. A didactic handbook for educators
  4. Good practice guidelines for beauty industry companies
  5. A project website with open access to all materials
  6. International dissemination events
