International projects
Turiba University is actively expanding its international cooperation, initiating, developing, and implementing various local, national, and international projects.
We believe that the development of the University is inconceivable without innovative initiatives, the creation of new teaching approaches and methods, and without international collaboration. To prepare high-quality new professionals, it is essential for our university to provide opportunities for learning in an international environment, meeting lecturers, and professionals from around the world. Therefore, we realize international projects in collaboration with universities and partners worldwide.
Through these projects, we have developed new and innovative educational resources and tools, published books, organized international conferences, exchange trips, study visits, summer schools, and other activities.
We have extensive experience in international project management and have been actively involved in coordinating projects such as Central Baltic Interreg, Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program, European Social fund, JUSTICE, NORDPLUS, and ERASMUS+ projects.

Modernizing Education with Dispute Intervention and Training for Occupational Readiness : MEDIATOR
MEDIATOR Project – Modernised Legal Education for the Development of Mediation in Albania and Kosovo
In November 2025, Turiba University launched the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project “Modernizing Education with Dispute Intervention and Training for Occupational Readiness – MEDIATOR.” The project aims to modernise legal studies in Albania and Kosovo by integrating Alternative Dispute Resolution– particularly mediation – into university curricula.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the lead partner Kadri Zeka University (Kosovo), as well as universities and mediation chambers from Albania, Kosovo, Italy, and the Netherlands.
Project Aim
The judicial systems in Albania and Kosovo face a significant increase in workload and lengthy case-processing times. Mediation, as an alternative dispute resolution method, can substantially reduce court congestion by ensuring a faster, more accessible, and collaboration-oriented process.
The key objectives of the MEDIATOR project are to:
- modernise legal education by developing and implementing specialised mediation study modules at bachelor’s and master’s levels;
- establish Mediation Centres within universities, providing students with practical experience;
- strengthen the competencies of academic staff in teaching mediation;
- reinforce cooperation between universities and Mediation Chambers, justice institutions, and other stakeholders in the legal sector.
The project will contribute to increasing the availability of professionally trained mediators while also enhancing employment opportunities for young people.
Expected Results
- Five new mediation study courses in each participating higher education institution.
- Training programmes for academic staff, preparing qualified educators in mediation.
- University Mediation Centres in Albania and Kosovo for student practice and community support.
- Cooperation agreements with Mediation Chambers, legal institutions, and industry partners.
- Public awareness campaigns on the importance of mediation and the career opportunities of mediators.
- Open-access teaching and methodological materials tailored for Albania and Kosovo, yet usable across the wider region.
