International projects
Turiba University is actively expanding its international cooperation, initiating, developing, and implementing various local, national, and international projects.
We believe that the development of the University is inconceivable without innovative initiatives, the creation of new teaching approaches and methods, and without international collaboration. To prepare high-quality new professionals, it is essential for our university to provide opportunities for learning in an international environment, meeting lecturers, and professionals from around the world. Therefore, we realize international projects in collaboration with universities and partners worldwide.
Through these projects, we have developed new and innovative educational resources and tools, published books, organized international conferences, exchange trips, study visits, summer schools, and other activities.
We have extensive experience in international project management and have been actively involved in coordinating projects such as Central Baltic Interreg, Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program, European Social fund, JUSTICE, NORDPLUS, and ERASMUS+ projects.

Empowering Higher Education through Artificial Intelligence Integration (EHEAII)

In September 2025, Turiba University in cooperation with 5 partner Universities from Lithuania, Spain, Germany, Italy and Slovenia began implementing the ERASMUS+ cooperation partnership project “Empowering Higher Education through Artificial Intelligence Integration” (EHEAII).
The initiative aims to equip higher education institutions (HEIs) with tools and methodologies for the responsible and effective integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into teaching, learning, and institutional processes.
The project addresses the growing impact of AI on higher education, emphasizing that universities must adapt strategically to ensure AI supports, rather than replaces, essential cognitive and analytical skills. The consortium focuses on developing practical, ethical, and pedagogically sound approaches to AI adoption in academia.
The EHEAII project addresses some of the most pressing challenges currently faced by European higher education. While Artificial Intelligence offers remarkable opportunities for innovation, many universities still lack clear guidelines and tools for its responsible use in studies and research. The project seeks to fill this gap by creating a structured framework and practical instruments that help institutions navigate AI integration effectively.
At the same time, EHEAII emphasizes the importance of balance - ensuring that AI enhances learning rather than replacing essential human abilities such as critical thinking, analysis, and creativity. Another key focus lies in strengthening universities’ overall readiness for digital transformation. By developing staff competences and institutional strategies, the project aims to prepare higher education institutions for a future where AI becomes an integral part of teaching, learning, and academic management.
Main Objectives:
- Assess institutional AI maturity and readiness across European universities.
- Develop guidelines for risk mitigation and cognitive balance in AI use.
- Create best practice materials and practical teaching tasks for integrating AI in business, communication, law, and IT studies.
- Design and pilot an online course for educators on AI tools and teaching innovation.
- Foster ethical and responsible AI use in higher education by aligning academic, administrative, and research perspectives.
Expected Results:
- AI Usage Report analysing trends and challenges of AI in higher education.
- Interactive AI Maturity Test helping institutions evaluate readiness.
- Set of Guidelines for Risk Mitigation and Cognitive Skill Development.
- 15 Best Practice Examples and 30 Practical Tasks for educators.
- Online Course for Teachers on AI tools and applications in education (including four disciplines).
- Trainer’s Handbook for future multipliers and institutional capacity-building.
- Trained educators and multipliers across partner countries, ensuring sustainable knowledge transfer.
