Europe's competitiveness depends on our shared understanding of how we want to live in the future and how to achieve it in the best way possible. The European Commission, in its strategy “Europe 2020”, has set out priorities for the key growth factors in Europe's economic space over the coming years: smart growth, which stands for the development of knowledge and innovation-based economy, sustainable growth, with a view to promote more resource-efficient, greener and more competitive economics and inclusive growth that we understand as fostering a high-employment economy delivering economic, social and territorial cohesion.
