Turība students explore daily hotel operations and strengthen collaboration with Radisson Blu Latvia
Students of Turība University enrolled in the course “Organization of Hotel Services” visited the Radisson Blu Latvia Conference & Spa Hotel, gaining first-hand insight into the operations of the hospitality industry.
During the visit, students explored the daily operations of the hotel, focusing on the roles and functions of the guest reception department, housekeeping, and administration. Attention was also given to staff management and the importance of interdepartmental collaboration.
The program included an informative presentation on the company and the Radisson Hotel Group, a guided hotel tour led by industry professionals, and discussions on staff recruitment, training, and workplace communication.
Students described the experience as both inspiring and practically valuable. Many noted that it helped them better understand industry operations and appreciate the importance of hospitality culture in daily work - from professional teamwork to guest reception quality. One student highlighted that this had been the most valuable learning experience so far, especially due to the team’s attitude and ability to create a genuinely hospitable environment.
These practical learning activities play a crucial role in bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world work, giving students the opportunity to learn from industry professionals and gain insight into future career opportunities.
The visit also marked a significant step in strengthening collaboration between Turība University and Radisson Blu Latvia Conference & Spa Hotel. A new memorandum of cooperation was signed to expand student internship opportunities, develop joint educational initiatives, and enhance professional engagement in the study process, reinforcing the connection between academia and the labor market.
