This autumn, the 47th ESPEN Congress (The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism) is taking place in Prague, Czech Republic. Guna Bīlande, the director of the bachelor’s degree program at Turība University, has also attended to expand her knowledge. This major Europe-wide conference in the fields of nutrition science and clinical nutrition brings together nutrition experts from around the world, including leading scientists, doctors, healthcare professionals, and specialists.
Guna Bīlande, director of Turība University bachelor’s program “Nutrition”, is enhancing her expertise through the ESPEN Life-Long Learning program course titled “Obesity”. The course covers the current significance of obesity, its causes, and modern treatment options. “Conferences and courses of this caliber provide an opportunity to stay updated on scientific developments and gain experience from other global experts in the field. Knowledge about current nutrition and health issues is essential not only for medical professionals but also in the context of public health and education,” emphasizes Guna Bīlande.
Participation in international conferences strengthens Turība University’s scientific and academic foundation, while also allowing the inclusion of current trends in study programs, ensuring students receive a modern, scientifically based, and practice-oriented education.
The bachelor’s degree program “Nutrition” is the newest nutrition program in the Baltics, developed by leading industry specialists in collaboration with doctors and other healthcare professionals, offered by Turība’s Field of Health Care.
