Representatives of Turība University raise important issues in society at the LAMPA Conversation Festival

From 20th to 21st of June in Cēsis, within the framework of the annual LAMPA talk festival, Turība University experts and specialists participated in various discussions in order to draw attention to important topics in society, as well as to dispel recently prevailing stereotypes.


On the “Dzirkstele” stage, Imants Bergs, Chairman of the Board of Turība University, took part in the discussion “Integration Guide: strategies to retain foreign talents in the Latvian labour market” to express his opinion on the talents of foreign students and their integration into the Latvian labour market after graduation. On the same stage was also held a discussion “What should be the Holocaust Museum in the 21st century”, where Edvīns Evarts, assistant professor of Communication at Turiba University and researcher at the Latvian Museum of Occupation, participated. During the discussion, the experts encouraged to think about the role of history in the future and its role in today's digital age.


In the discussion "Riga full of those Wolt and Bolt immigrants! Are foreign students an integral part of Latvia's economy and society?" Yashwant Jaiswal, graduate of Turība University and Erasmus programme coordinator, shared his experience of opening his own gastrobar “Aura” in Old Riga and studying at bachelor and master level in Latvia, and revealed how he came to choose to settle in Latvia, which he has called home for nine years now.


The LAMPA Talks Festival took place in Cēsis on 20th – 21st June 2025. It is a large-scale initiative, an open platform, the content of which is created by more than 300 organisations and active individuals, working together to create a place where opinions can be exchanged in a free, relaxed atmosphere and where topics of public interest can be discussed in a respectful manner.
