Nordplus Intensive Courses - a great opportunity to gain experience and knowledge

This summer, three NORDPLUS Intensive Courses or Summer Schools will take place at Turiba University from 11 to 22 August. Turiba students interested in these topics are welcome to apply and gain international experience!

NORDPLUS Intensive Courses or Summer Schools Turiba have been running for many years, each year on a different topic. During these courses we welcome students from Finland, Lithuania, Norway and Estonia, while Turiba students have a great opportunity to gain international learning experience right here in Latvia. This summer, we will be hosting three such courses:

  • Security risk management, dates: 12-22.08.2025.
  • Sustainable mindset in entrepreneurship, dates: 11.-.21.08.2025.
  • Mediation in criminal and civil cases, dates: 11.-.21.08.2025.

Security and sustainable business are hot topics in the world as a whole and for the Baltic and Scandinavian countries that are NORDPLUS member countries. Today we face new challenges related to migration, conflicts rooted in cultural and religious differences, cyber-attacks and other threats to our security. It is therefore increasingly important for educational institutions to prepare capable and knowledgeable security professionals who can tackle these new threats and challenges.

Similarly, today, building a secure state cannot be done without thinking about sustainable development principles and sustainable business. This second course will therefore provide insights on how to generate sustainable business ideas and how to develop your business according to sustainability principles.

Developing conflict resolution skills is essential for students preparing to work and live in complex professional and social environments. Conflict is inevitable in fields such as law, business, administration and psychology, and the ability to resolve disputes effectively affects personal and professional success. The third course on offer will provide insights into how to resolve disputes peacefully in different contexts, how to promote constructive dialogue, helping to resolve disagreements effectively and prevent escalation.

During the intensive courses, students will have the opportunity to participate in lectures, practical sessions, discussions with industry professionals and experts and study visits. The course will be taught by lecturers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Finland, and the working language will be English. It will also be a great opportunity to learn and work in an international environment with students from Lithuania, Estonia and Finland, Norway.

The course is free of charge. Turiba will cover students' tuition fees, study visits and various leisure activities with international students.
