International training in security risk management will take place in the Baltic and Scandinavian region

In order to educate young people in security risk management and sustainable business issues in the Baltic and Scandinavian region, Turība University will host two international summer schools from August 11 to 22.
Within two weeks, Turība University will host three NORDPLUS intensive courses, which will bring together Turība students and international partner students from Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and Norway. From August 11 to 21, the intensive courses “Sustainable Thinking in Business” and “Mediation in Criminal and Civil Cases” will take place, while from August 12 to 22 – “Security Risk Management”.
The training topics have been selected in accordance with current events both in the Baltic and Scandinavian regions, as well as on a global scale, as issues of resolving migration conflicts, risks posed to national and international security are becoming increasingly important on a global scale, therefore, the need to prepare knowledgeable specialists who are able to build connections and find solutions to various challenges is growing.
Kārlis Apalups, Head of the Organization Security study field at Turība University, emphasizes that developing conflict resolution skills and knowledge about security risk management are very important for any future professional. Conflicts are inevitable, especially in areas such as law and entrepreneurship, therefore the ability to effectively resolve various types of disputes can affect personal and professional success, while security risk management allows you to avoid conflicts altogether if the professional is able to anticipate risks in a timely manner and prevent them.
As part of the intensive courses, young people will have the opportunity to participate in lectures, practical classes, discuss with industry professionals and specialists and go on various visits. They will be attended by lecturers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Norway and Finland.
The courses are organized with the financial support of the NORDPLUS program. NORDPLUS is an educational program of the Nordic Council of Ministers, which supports cooperation in the field of education between the Nordic and Baltic countries. The program offers funding for mobility, cooperation projects and exchange of experience among students.
