Entrepreneurs rank Turība among the top three most recognized business education universities
750 Latvian companies have ranked Turība University among the top three most recognized higher education institutions in the field of business education, according to the latest survey conducted by SKDS.
“We are pleased that Turība, the largest business university in the Baltics, continues to be among the top three universities most recognized by employers, standing on equal footing with the two largest state universities. Our motto, ‘Business thinking in every program,’ certainly reflects our values, and these are also evident in employers’ evaluations. The close cooperation with employers that underlies this recognition is not an end in itself for Turība, but rather the result of long-term work to ensure that our graduates can feel as secure and confident as possible in the labor market,” commented Zane Driņķe, Rector of Turība University.
She also emphasized that many members of Turība’s teaching staff are actively involved in business themselves - they are employers and managers who see students as future team members, leaders, and cooperation partners. “Another important factor is the amount of practical training during studies - about 60% of study knowledge is acquired through internships. This gives our students a significant advantage over those who have spent their study time only in the world of theory. That is why, on average, 80% of our students start working already during their studies, and many also establish their own companies”.
The development of study programs and the study process takes place in close cooperation with the industry. For example, in response to labor market and external environment demands, a new bachelor’s program “Nutrition” has been created, along with a specialization in “Communication and Public Safety” within communication studies, “Business Diplomacy,” and work is currently underway to create a unified course “Robotics in Entrepreneurship” across all programs.
To ensure that students receive the latest industry knowledge during their studies, Turība places strong emphasis on practical skills and lecturers who are professionals in their respective fields. For this reason, the university is proud of its cooperation partners - companies, organizations, and institutions that share their knowledge through guest lectures and provide students with opportunities to gain practical experience while working in companies. Turība’s network of partners is extensive and continues to grow each year.
The entrepreneur survey was conducted at the end of 2025 and has been carried out annually by the research center SKDS since 2015. The study involved 750 company leaders from manufacturing, construction, trade, and service sectors across Latvia - Riga, Kurzeme, Zemgale, Latgale, and Vidzeme. Microenterprises were the most active participants, making up 88% of respondents, and the survey also included small, medium-sized, and large companies.
