Entrepreneurs of Liepāja in the Turība discussion: Dare and do from the heart

On August 12, in Liepāja, at the Turība University embassy - Pegasus Courtyard - a discussion of local entrepreneurs was held, in which entrepreneurs shared their stories about the beginnings of their businesses, challenges and the region’s advantages, as well as the role of education in business development.
All participants in the discussion agreed that it is always necessary to dare to do something and that your ideas will succeed if you do your work from the heart and do what you like. Education is also of great importance - from various courses to higher education, because all knowledge will always be useful in life and work, although it may not seem so at first. Mistakes made are also part of the experience of entrepreneurs, which must be evaluated and considered a useful lesson in further development.
Entrepreneurs appreciated the advantages of the region and the responsiveness of local people, and support for local entrepreneurs, as well as expressed pride in belonging to Liepāja and this region.
Four experienced and inspiring entrepreneurs from Liepāja shared their stories and insights in the discussion: Māris Egmanis, owner of Ltd Windrose and Cafe Kubs, Uldis Eglītis, board member of Ltd Remedine, a graduate of law of the Turība Liepāja branch, Laila Zuļģe, a home cheese producer and graduate of marketing studies of the Turība Liepāja branch, and Viktorija Dobrovolska, owner of Tattoo krāsa and tattoo artist.
The aim of the discussion evening “Entrepreneurial Impulse in Liepāja” was to highlight the significant contribution and opportunities of entrepreneurship, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the self-employed, to the development of the region and the city. The event was organized by the Turība Liepāja branch.
“We often focus on large companies, but this time we want to especially highlight those who form the very foundation of entrepreneurship - small and medium-sized enterprises, self-employed and individual entrepreneurs. They are an important and often underestimated part of our common entrepreneurship. The courage to start from scratch, believe in your idea and work every day to create value for others is a true inspiration for all of us,” says Renāts Butkus, Head of the Liepāja branch of Turība University.
After the discussion, visitors and other interested parties could join an ethno-jazz evening, where the atmosphere was provided by the musical association MǪ from Ventspils, which combines Latvian folk music with modern electronic vibes in its sound.
Pegasus Courtyard is the Turība University embassy, where the Liepāja branch organizes various events, which are a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, expand your circle of contacts and get new ideas for your business. “We want to not only provide valuable knowledge and inspiration, but also emphasize the importance of practical knowledge and cooperation with industry professionals,” emphasizes R.Butkus.
