Communication knowledge and skills are in demand in the job market

Communication knowledge and skills are among the most valued skills in the labor market. Employers consider them valuable and very necessary, which is why Turība University offers to study public relations, international and strategic communication management, providing an opportunity to gain new knowledge in communication for both new communication students and already practicing professionals.

When studying communication, you can choose to specifically deepen your knowledge in one of the aspects of this field - digital or multimedia communication, business diplomacy, and public safety.

THE FIELD OF COMMUNICATION SCIENCES OFFERS THE FOLLOWING STUDY PROGRAMS:

  • Bachelor study programs – “International Communication Management” (Specialization “Business Diplomacy” within the bachelor’s study program “International Communication Management”)
  • Master study program – “Strategic Communication Management” (Specialization "Digital and multimedia communication" of the program "strategic communication management")
  • Doctoral study program – “Communication Management”

The Bachelor's study program “International Communication Management” provides the opportunity to learn how to plan, organize, and manage an organization's international communication, analyze information, target audiences, and communication channels, as well as develop and strategize international communication management. It also covers the analysis of international communication risks, forecasting potential crises, and engaging in crisis management, along with other valuable skills. “International Communication Management” is a highly diverse and creative program that teaches international communication from various perspectives: international marketing, international networking, and diplomatic protocol. It also teaches how to implement your own innovations.

In the Communication study program, you have the opportunity to learn:

  • digital and content (influencer) marketing,
  • creative industries and multimedia (photo, video, audio),
  • artificial intelligence tools,
  • branding and crisis communication,
  • integrated and digital communication campaigns.

Master’s study program in “Strategic Communication Management”

Turība University offers a Master’s study program in “Strategic Communication Management”, developed in collaboration with professionals from the communication industry and designed in line with modern principles of strategic communication and current trends in digital communication. The program also includes a specialization in “Digital and Multimedia Communication”, which features courses such as - Strategic Communication Management in a Multimedia Environment, Digital Communication and Social Media Marketing, Graphic Design and Visualization, Communication Psychology. This is an almost ideal educational package for communication specialists and professionals who wish to acquire or strengthen their knowledge in the field of strategic communication. Today, communication cannot be imagined without a thoughtful, meaningful, and goal-oriented approach, with both short-term and long-term vision - especially as aspects like building a stable corporate reputation and brand value have become more important than ever. We live in a digital era, and a communication professional’s knowledge is no longer just about public relations or managing international communication, but also about the use of multimedia which is precisely why this specialization is so relevant.

Doctoral study program – “Communication Management”

To enhance career growth opportunities, increase earning potential, and gain broader knowledge and understanding in communication, Turība University offers a doctoral study program in “Communication Management.” This program allows students to acquire research and teaching skills, as well as gain new knowledge in integrated marketing communication, media and communication science, and management science, including strategic, communication, and media management. It offers the opportunity to develop competencies in problem-oriented research by linking communication and management. The study program is designed to elevate previously acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities to the highest academic level.

All doctoral students have the opportunity to engage in the European Journalism Observatory (EJO) – an international network of researchers and media professionals – and to apply for an EJO scholarship at the Free University of Berlin.

Creative space “DigiCom”

Under the umbrella of the Communication field, the creative space “DigiCom” operates to make studies even more practical and creative. “DigiCom” provides students with the opportunity to learn and improve practical skills in creating audio, photo, and video communication materials. The aim of this communication space is to develop students’ critical thinking and industry connection, serving as a foundation for ideas and creative approaches when solving specific situations or case studies. The DigiCom creative space is equipped with audio equipment (microphones, speakers, computers for sound editing, etc.), as well as photo and video gear, enabling hands-on learning in a real-world environment.
