At the winter graduation, Turība University will honor its 19000th graduate
On 13 December, Turība University will hold its winter graduation, welcoming 326 new professionals. Most will receive master’s degrees, while four will graduate from doctoral programs.
During the ceremony, the 19 000th graduate, the 1 000th international student, the 2 000th graduate of the Master’s program in Business Administration, as well as seven “Lecturer of the Year 2025/2026” awardees will be honored.
Given the large number of graduates and to celebrate them and their guests properly, three separate ceremonies will be held: 11:00 – graduates of bachelor’s and master’s programs in the English-language stream will receive their diplomas. While at 14:00 -graduates of short-cycle (college-level) programs in both Latvian and English streams. Whereas the closure of the event will be at 17:00 – graduates of doctoral programs in both Latvian and English streams, along with graduates of bachelor’s and master’s programs in the Latvian-language stream.
A special moment will be for four doctoral graduates from the Faculty of Business Administration – Dace Šakena, Annemarija Šperliņa, Ketevan Rizhamadze, and Charles Nnamdi Ohanyelu – who will join Turība’s community of 47 doctors. These new doctors will have completed doctoral programs in “Communication Management”, “Business Administration”, and “Management Science”.
The faculty with the largest number of graduates this winter is the Faculty of Business Administration with 229 graduates. The Faculty of Law will see 78 new professionals, the Faculty of International Tourism – 15, and the Faculty of Information Technology – four graduates.
By level of study, the largest group of graduates are in master’s programs, with 151 students completing programs such as: “Business Psychology and Human Resource Management”, “Law in Organisation Management”, “Security Management of Organisations”, “Strategic Communication Management”, “Tourism Strategic Management”, “Business Administration”, “Event Production and Management”.
Bachelor’s degrees will be awarded to 72 graduates, who studied programs including: “Business Administration”, “International Financial Management”, “Business Logistics Management”, “Law”, “Tourism and Hospitality Management”, “Communications and Public Relations Management”, “Event Production and Management”,
Short-cycle (college-level) studies will see 99 graduates, completing programs such as: “Programmer”, “Organizational Security”, “Finance and Accounting”, “Marketing and Sales”, “Law”, “Hotel Service Organiser”.
The college programs with the largest number of graduates are: Cēsis branch – 36, North Kurzeme branch – 20, and Liepāja branch – 14.
This year, 91 international students are graduating from Turība: 2 from doctoral programs, 85 from master’s programs, and 4 from bachelor’s programs. They studied programs including “Business Psychology and Human Resource Management”, “Strategic Communication Management”, “Tourism Strategic Management”, and “Business Administration”.
Winter graduation will feature students from 10 countries – Latvia, Ukraine, Italy, Mexico, Georgia, India, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, and for the first time, a graduate from South Korea. Overall, Turība University has welcomed graduates from 41 countries worldwide.
