Turība University places strong emphasis on practical skills, as these are highly valued by employers. Turība ranks among the TOP 3 most recommended universities by employers.
Practical knowledge is highly valued at Turība; therefore, lecturers are experienced industry professionals who provide students with up-to-date insights and practical recommendations relevant to their fields. Educational excursions to companies are organized, and study content includes seminars and diverse practical components designed to provide real-world industry understanding.
Each year, during the second semester, students undertake an internship either in Latvia or abroad. The University’s Career Centre assists students in finding internship placements, although students may also secure placements independently.
The study process at Turība consists 60 % of practical training in a real work environment, while 40% is devoted to theoretical studies led by experienced lecturers who have built successful professional careers and provide valuable guidance to students.
Employers who recognize a student’s knowledge and skills during an internship may offer employment after its completion. This allows students to work in their chosen profession already during their studies and immediately apply the knowledge gained in practice. Survey results indicate that nearly 80% of Turība students are employed while studying. Flexible study formats make it convenient to combine work and studies.
