Night of Scientists

As part of the Night of Scientists, Turība University invites everyone interested to participate in various activities offered by the university's IT faculty.
As part of the Night of Scientists, the IT department will have prepared various exciting and educational activities that will encourage everyone interested to try out and get to know new IT technologies for themselves. The program will be further supplemented with new activities and events to ensure a comprehensive and interesting experience. Therefore, we invite you to follow the news.
As part of the IT department's studies, new innovations are being created in the IT laboratory and the first two patents have already been received - for a new automated microclimate control system that is able to adapt to changing conditions and maintain an ideal microclimate indoors. The second patent has been received for the first IT control system approach for a unique device in Latvia that reads the brain's low-frequency radio waves and is able to control the device with it, making it move in different directions, thus connecting technology with the human mind.
The IT faculty of the Turība University is the only one in the Baltics that studies the interaction of brain waves with computers and other devices. Currently, the IT direction offers two study programs. The college's study program “Programmer” includes everything necessary in programming, computer system architecture, systems analysis and basic database technologies. Whereas, in the professional bachelor's study program “Computer Systems”, a student learns various programming languages: Java, C#, Python, Kotlin and JavaScript. In parallel with the acquisition of programming languages, the study program is supplemented with various creative and comprehensive IT areas, such as “Machine Learning and Intelligent Analytics”, “Design Thinking in the IT Industry”, “User Interface and Experience”, “Internet of Things”, “Green IT Systems and Methods”, “Software Development for Modeling and Simulation (Virtual Reality)” and “Robotics”, where you will be able to control, for example, robots with the help of brain waves (thought power).
See you at the Night of Scientists at Turība University, Riga, 68 Graudu Street, where you will have an exciting time and learn something new from the world of technology!
Parking during the event is free.
