Over 800 students attend the "Skate into the session" event! (0)

The annual pre-examination event “Skate into the session” was successfully organized by the Students’ Council of Turiba on 19th November at the skating rink of the recreation complex Lido. It is worth mentioning that more than 800 attractive and enterprising students and their friends attended the event.

You could participate in various exciting contests on the ice and around at the event. The event managers- chairperson of the Students’ Council Jānis Dāboliņš and his deputy Līga Gablika played an active role in involving the public and maintaining the party atmosphere.

As per tradition every year the heart rendering fight “Deans Vs Students” took place with the participation of the Deans of the faculty of Public Relations Andris Pētersons and the faculty of Business Administration   Solvita Vītola and their respective students. The students took the upper hand in a really tense fight.

The guests were entertained by figure skating shows which prompted the Turiba’s talisman to demonstrate its skating skills. Other contests such as “Deft hunters”, “You skated round the rink” and relay contest “Enchanted circle” were also part of the evening programme.

The Tallink contest wherein 7 teams participated with their specially designed ferries for the main prize –trip to Stockholm on a Tallink ferry is also worth mentioning. We congratulate the winners Jānis Skroders, Miks Pošeiks and Niks Skudra with their "Vareno Dūmotāju", who covered the whole Lido recreation complex with their white smoke clouds!

All those who wished to rest their feet could participate in the karaoke, table hockey and visit the special photo corner which taking into account the number of pictures was definitely the hot favorite.

The finalists of the contest “ Turiba King and Queen” - Kristīne Kalvāne, Sintija Keiša, Elīna Grāve, Edgars Gerosins, Mārtiņš Bārda un Jānis Bukšs were also announced during the evening. The finalists will compete for the Turiba King and Queen title at the Christmas Ball to be held at Turiba on the 10th December.

All those who thought that the event ended early could continue their celebrations at the after party in the club "Pussy Lounge", where those with "Skate into the session" dress code could avail a free first drink.
