Regulations on the use of the library

Turiba University offers to use a new computerized modern access library with literature issue and electronic registration of receipt, and electronic catalogue of books and periodicals, as well.

The mission of the library is providing studies, after-diploma training and scientific work with the latest textbooks and scientific literature according to study programmes and research directions offering an opportunity to use not only the extensive fund of books and press, but also on-line and local databases available in the library and Internet resources, as well.

Erudite librarians work in Turiba library, they help students to choose and find the necessary literature and find information in databases. There are 285 work places in the library, 80 from them are computerized.

If user has a computer with Internet access, he/she can use Turiba electronic catalogue from any place of the world. Students from other higher education institutions can use library funds or data basis and Internet resources. In the library subscription there are available two electronic catalogues for literature finding and selecting which allow finding the necessary information using the names of subjects and key words.

In proportion of the increase in the number of students each year Turiba University invests financial means in the development of library technologies, purchase of databases and supplementing library funds with latest literature.

Turiba University is a member of the Association of Latvian Academic Libraries.
