Turiba University takes part in ITB Berlin, the world’s largest tourism expo (2)
ITB Berlin is the largest industry fair in the world devoted to tourism. It is a great way to find out about the latest trends in the tourism industry, establish high-quality contacts with customers and prospective partners in any business niche.
Last year, ITB Berlin gathered over 109,000 industry specialists hailing from 180 countries worldwide. The total number of visitors was 160,000.
This year, the tourism fair was held in Berlin, Germany, from March 7th–11th. Turiba University was a participant with a booth of its own.
“Turiba’s participation in this expo was important for putting our name out there as a serious player in tourism education. At ITB, we made contacts with representatives in the industry as well as other educational institutions. Of course, our number one job was informing potential students about study opportunities available in Latvia”, explains Daina Vinklere, Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Tourism.
On 27 May 2016, Turiba University concluded agreement No. SKV-L-2016/383 with state-owned “Latvijas Investīciju un attīstības aģentūra” (Investment and Development Agency of Latvia), as part of which Turiba participates in educational fairs, trade missions and conferences by drawing on co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund.
