From 10 September 2013 till 14 September 2013 the dean of International Tourism faculty Agita Doniņa participated in the annual meeting of TedQual programme of UN World Tourism Organization in Madrid (Spain).
According to the International Tourism Faculty dean, during the meeting its participants looked back to the work done in the previous academic year; the first Student’s Board meeting of UN World Tourism Organization was mentioned as very positive and definitely to be continued, in which also Turiba student Evija Racina took part, also trends of tourism development, problems and challenges were discussed and analysed. In the meeting it was discussed how to “revitalize” the values determined in UN Global Code of Ethics both for students and industry itself, the work plan for the next year was also determined, as well.
„We have deserved a high score from the management of UN World Tourism Organisation TedQual programme and its participants because education institutions can learn from Turiba experience, using availability of both academic and administrative staff as an example, also Practical studies and business promotion among students in the extended and modernized Business Coworking space (incubator). We have received an invitation to take part in the publicity activities of the organization and to talk about study process in Turiba!” A. Doniņa is satisfied with the meeting in Madrid and work in the tourism organization.
