The Student of International Tourism Faculty Evija Racina Is Approved to the Participation in UN WTO Tedqual Student Advisory Board (0)
The student of International Tourism Faculty of Turiba University Evija Racina is selected to the participation in the Student Advisory Board established by the TedQual of World Tourism Organization of UN. The task of E. Racina together with students from all over the world will be to express her opinion and to promote mutual exchange of experience, thus popularizing the best practice for integration of young professionals in the labour market of tourism industry.
Tedqual Student Advisory Board of UN WTO is established with the aim to learn from future professionals and to increase their role in future tourism development.
To start activity of Student Advisory Board, young people from all over the world will meet in Bournemouth town in England already from 4 September till 6 September where they three days will discuss the labour market of the tourism industry and how students, as the future tourism professionals, can join the sustainable development of labour market.
During meeting Student Advisory Board will meet real employers, take part in simulated job interviews, discuss ethical issues that should be observed by future professionals, as well as discuss future work of the tourism industry.
World Tourism Organization expects that the established Student Advisory Board will promote better development of tourism industry, as well as help to discover and develop students’ professional and personal talents.
We remind that the study programme of the International Tourism Faculty – Tourism and Hospitality Management as the only one in the whole Central Europe obtained TedQual certificate of World Tourism Organization of UN. This document has been granted only to those world universities which implemented higher education in tourism field meets developed quality standards. Students and academic staff of Turiba University, as the participants of UN WTO TedQual university, regularly are involved in the projects of world tourism development, for example, jointly developing the code of ethics of graduates of organization partner universities, organizing the survey of UN WTO TedQual university students.
