Survey’s data shows that 97% of graduates of Turiba are employed
Everyone wants to live well and be happy. Success in a market economy is not a self-aim, but it is the most effective tool how to fulfill their desires. The graduates of Turiba, who are more than 14 000, have understood and been able to discover how to develop their talents and apply the knowledge gained in lectures at university.
Professional studies of Turiba University, which provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in each academic year, serves as the basis for the fact that 97% of graduates of the university are employed. This shows that employers appreciate practical experience and knowledge. This is evidenced by the fact that Turiba University has been ranked among the top five universities valued by the Employers' Confederation of Latvia and the portal prakse.lv, therefore becoming one of the most recommended universities for employers.
The latest data from the graduate survey conducted by Turiba University shows that graduates of the university are able not only to successfully find a job, but most often work directly in the chosen profession, and successfully form their own business or take leading positions:
- 65% of the surveyed graduates work in the profession associated with the acquired education;
- 46% of the surveyed graduates hold leading positions in different industries;
- 23% of graduates have implemented their business ideas and become entrepreneurs.
37% of the university graduates, who where surveyed, have above the € 1000 monthly avarage revenue after tax payment. Comparing it with the average monthly net wage in Latvia, which in the third quarter of 2017 was 674 euros, it can be concluded that graduates of the university are well-paid. Undoubtedly, higher income is for those graduates who are middle or top managers, for example, 51% of those who hold a managerial position have indicated that their monthly income exceeds the 1000 euro threshold. 31% of top-level respondents have indicated that their monthly income exceeds the € 1,500 threshold.
As already mentioned, 23% of graduates have implemented their business ideas and become entrepreneurs, implementing different forms of business. The majority of graduates, it is 64%- implement the business form – Ltd., 11% of them are self-employed persons, 8% - join-stock company form’s executors, 6% - entrepreneurs, 2% - individual merchants, while 1% of graduates are owners of ZZS .
The data also show that most graduates (46%) are top executives or managers, 37% are specialists, while 14% - project managers.
Graduates of Turiba University are also among those Latvian entrepreneurs who have found the key to their success and have developed successful business. Graduates are still actively collaborating with the university and share their success with existing students, as well as developing successful co-operation with students.
