Students of Turiba University take part at the conference of tourism professionals in Berlin (1)
Students of master study programme of “Tourism and Strategic Management” of Faculty of International Tourism of Turiba University visited international tourism exhibition “ITB” in Berlin and took part at the special conference programme – ITB Convention.
ITB Convention this year was held already for the 10th time, and in a relatively short time it has become a significant event of tourism industry professionals and annual event of scientists, and frequently it is known as the leading creative museum in the world. According to students’ opinion, such trips enable them listen to lectures and discussions by the most recognized specialists of tourism industry.
In such conference sessions a special attention was paid to several new and topical themes – opportunities, how to develop new tourism products, mobile applications and their importance in tourism increase.
Manager of the Tourism Research Centre of Faculty of International Tourism of Turiba University Ēriks Lingebērziņš indicates: “For students, visit of ITB is a significant addition to the study process – by visiting the world’s largest tourism exhibition, probably they can be convinced of diversity of tourism destinations and offers, as well as business development opportunities, in its turn, participation at the conference sessions provides an opportunity to hear the most current and most topical tendencies of international environment, the latest technological achievements, and significantly such participation broadens the horizon.”
