Students of Applied and recreational event management go to the adventure park "Alaska" (1)
At the end of January third year students of Applied and recreational event management had a unique opportunity to get out of their daily environment, and enjoy a three-day "lecture" near the nature. Within the study course “Self-Realization skills in the team” we went to the adventure park "Alaska".
Kārlis Lipsnis- the student of Applied and recreational event management says:” In the three-day workshop was presented homework - without the projector, the sauna was built using the harvested trees and hot stones and of course the soup was boiled on the fire. To the company of good friends it may seem as a ordinary holiday adventure, but in this situation it should be noted that there were less than 10 people who are bound together only by subjects of university. To understand why this fact is so important I can stress that this was the first time in three years when all coursemates were together outside the premises of university.”
"This experience provided an excellent opportunity to test theoretical knowledge in practice. Until now we were just talking about team management and various types of people, but through a variety of tasks at the adventure park "Alaska" we realized what really means team work in different situations going beyond your comfort zone. "
“I learned different useful skills for survival and team management in those two days. Going beyond the comfort zone really shook us and led to reflect on how to behave in different situations in our daily lives "- these are some of the students' comments about adventure in Suntazi.
Third year students of Applied and recreational event management want to say a huge thanks to Turiba University and especially to Pauls Jurjans for this adventure and valuable experience.
