Opportunity for master students of Strategic Management in Tourism to attend lectures by the Swiss professor (1)
From 16 February to 22 February master students of Strategic Management in Tourism of Faculty of International Tourism of Turiba University will have an opportunity to attend lectures by the Swiss professor Urs Wagenseil.
Professor Urs Wagenseil is the Head of Tourism Competence Centre at the Institute of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Professor has many years of experience by working in business of ingoing and outgoing tourism, as well as 6 years of experience in creating international tourism destinations. He has consulted tourism ministries of Bulgaria and Romania in issues of destination management.
Within the lectures several topical themes will be discussed:
- Concepts of destination management and marketing;
- Tourism planning;
- (Sustainable) Product development;
- Destination integrated marketing communication;
- Destination information and communication technologies (ICTs).
The lecture block will be concluded on 20 February with a trip to Liepāja. Within the trip there will be a brainstorming about development of Karosta strategic management, which this year was developed by master students of Strategic Management in Tourism.
Lectures are implemented within the framework of the project „Tourism and Destination Marketing from Strategies and Branding to sustainable destination development”. The project is implemented within the framework of the grant scheme „Swiss Researchers Activities in Latvia” of Swiss-Latvian Cooperation Programme.
