Conference "Language, Literature and Culture in Education 2016" (3)
The lecturer of the Language Department of Turiba and a PHD student of the Latvian University Valerija Malavska participated at the conference Language, Literature and Culture in Education 2016 - LLCE2016 that was held on 12th – 14th July 2016 in Venice, Italy. It was organized by SlovakEdu - an independent, non-profit research and development association of researchers, experts and teachers that participates in various education-oriented development projects, organizes international conferences, seminars and workshops on topics related to education and social sciences; as well as publishes books and textbooks.
The conference hosted 109 researchers, scientists, language, literature and culture teachers and lecturers from 33 countries, including Hong Kong, Malaysia, Iran, Jordan, Canada, the USA, Nigeria, South Africa and covered a vast array of topics in language teaching, education, linguistics and methodology. The topicality of researches and findings by scientists from all around the world allowed delegates discover what areas of linguistics and language learning are currently essential in different parts of the world, find similarities and differences, evaluate and assess others and themselves.
Valerija Malavska presented part of her doctoral thesis devoted to the genre of an academic lecture, she described peculiarities of a university lecture, presented developed by her three-staged move analysis that allows structuring a lecture more clearly and efficiently, talked about interdiscurisivity, intertextuality, genre mixing, interdisciplinarity of a modern lecture that is still one the most efficient ways of delivering information to students worldwide. International environment was helpful in contact establishment, promotion of the home university and personal development of visitors.
