The competition for 17 study vacancies in the bilateral exchange programme for the 2nd semester of the academic year 2013/2014 shall hereby be announced in accordance with bilateral agreements concluded between higher education institutions and the clause 2.6. of the Regulations on procedure for studies in the double degree and bilateral exchange programmes.

Full time students of the 2nd and 3rd study years of the professional bachelor’s study programmes   and full time students of the 1st study year of the professional master’s (postgraduate) study programmes  shall be eligible to participate in the competition providing that they:

    • are studying “English for special purposes” in the highest level group;
    • have no academic debts for the previous study period,
    • have no outstanding financial obligations due towards Turiba,
    • have an average mark not less than 7 for the previous study period,
    • meet additional criteria set for the selection of students by the respective Faculties in accordance with the clause 2.4.3. of the Regulations on procedure for studies in double degree and bilateral exchange programmes.
    • have acquired the English language certificate IELTS (6.0 points) or TOEFL (70 points) not later than two years before the term of application for studies at the North Dakota State University.

The evaluation criteria for the competition shall be as follows:

    • Average mark of the student during the previous study period;
    • Foreign language mark of the student;
    • Additional criteria set by the respective faculties.

The number of study places for the 1st semester of the academic year 2013/2014 shall be divided among the respective programmes as follows:

    • professional bachelor’s  study programmes “Business Administration”, “Public Relations”, “Management of International Communication” and “Marketing and Sales Management” and professional master’s (postgraduate) study programme “Business Administration” and “Public Relations”- 2 study places for studies at Kyung Hee University (South Korea), 2 study places for studies at St. Petersburg’s  State Economic and Finance University (Russia), 2 study places for studies at International School of Business (Ireland), 1 study place for studies at Universidad La Salle Morelia (Mexico), 1 study place for studies at North Dakota State University (USA), 1 study place for studies at Ural federal University (Russia), 1 study place for studies at International Black Sea University (Georgia), 1 study place for studies at Otterbein University (USA).
    • Professional bachelor’s programmes “Tourism and Hospitality Management” and “Event and Leisure Management” and professional master’s (postgraduate) study programme “Tourism strategic Management”- 1 study place for studies at Universidad La Salle Morelia (Mexico), 2 study places for studies at Kyung Hee University (South Korea), 2 study places for studies at St. Petersburg’s State Economic and Finance University (Russia), 1 study place for studies at North Dakota State University (USA).

The deadline for submission of applications for the competition is the 21st October 2013.

Students, who wish to apply for study places in the bilateral exchange programme shall submit their applications to the International relations department, Room A214 or A215 or by e-mail Imants.Bergs@turiba.lv

The results of the competition shall be announced on 24th October 2013.

The results of the competition shall be published on Turiba’s webpage www.turiba.lv and on the notice boards near the respective faculties.
