Announced competition for studies in the Double Degree Programme (0)

The competition for 15 study vacancies in the double degree programme for the academic year 2013/2014 shall hereby be announced in accordance with bilateral agreements concluded between higher education institutions and the clause 2.5. of the Regulations on procedure for studies in the double degree and bilateral exchange programmes.

Full time students of the  2nd study years of the professional bachelor’s study programme “Tourism and Hospitality Management”, “Business Administration”, “Events and Leisure management”, “International Communication Management”  and “Law” shall be eligible to participate in the competition providing that they:

- are studying “English for special purposes” in the highest level group;
- have no academic debts for the previous study period;
- have no outstanding financial obligations due towards Turiba;
- have an average mark not less than 7 for the previous study period;
- meet additional criteria set for the selection of students by the respective Faculties in accordance with the clause 2.4.3. of the Regulations on procedure for studies in double degree and bilateral exchange programmes.


The evaluation criteria for the competition shall be as follows:

- average mark of the student during the previous study period;
- foreign language mark of the student;
- additional criteria set by the respective faculties.

The number of study places for the academic year 2013/2014 shall be divided among the respective programmes as follows:

- professional bachelor’s  study programmes “Business Administration” - 1 study place for studies at University of Abertay Dundee, 2 study places for studies at La Rochelle Business School, 2 study places for studies at Cesine Business School;
- Professional bachelor’s programmes “Tourism and Hospitality Management” - 2 study places for studies at Normandy Business School, 2 study places for studies at Ming Chuan University, 2 study places for studies at La Rochelle Business School;
- professional bachelor’s  study programmes “Events and Leisure management” - 2 study places for studies at Glamorgan University;
- professional bachelor’s  study programmes “Law” - 1 study place for studies at University of Abertay Dundee;
- professional bachelor’s study programmes “International Communication Management”- 1 study place for studies at Dogus University.

The deadline for submission of applications for the competition is the 11th March 2013.

Students, who wish to apply for study places in the bilateral exchange programme shall submit their applications to the International relations department, Room A201 or A215 or by e-mail Imants.Bergs@turiba.lv

The results of the competition shall be announced on 20th March 2013. The results of the competition shall be published on Turiba’s webpage www.turiba.lv and on the notice boards near the respective faculties.
